Using Firmware Passwords at Startup E-mail
If your Mac has a firmware password set, all the startup modifiers will be disabled, save for the Option key (Startup Manager), which will prompt for the firmware password. For more information, see Apple Knowledge Base article HT1352, "Setting up firmware password protection in Mac OS X." “Tim over at the Mac Guys +  has been a great IT consultant for us. He's very knowledgable about all things Mac and even PCs. Tim never automatically upgrades or suggests something new until he's had to learn about it and test it. He always has our best interests in mind and likes to make sure we are aware of our options when it's time to upgrade. I'll hire The Mac Guys again when given the chance.”
