You
can hold down the C key at startup to start up from a bootable CD or
DVD already in the drive. Holding down Command-Option-Shift-Delete
forces the Mac to bypass the typical default startup drive (your
internal drive) in favor of an alternative bootable device, such as an
external FireWire drive. This may succeed in cases where holding down
the Option key does not access the drive you wish to use.

“Tim is a great guy to work with and I have not met a more knowledgeable person in the Apple/Mac field in my 8 years in the I.T. industry. He's always very pleasant and has a great attitude which has transcended our business relationship into a good friendship. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced, professional consultant for all Mac products and solutions.”
